Role: Service Technician - Troubleshooting Gamesa Turbines - IA State
Location: New York State
Status: Contract
Length of Contract: 3-5 years plus to permanent
Travel Status: no, relocated to New York
Start Date: ASAP and through 2020
Compensation: Competitive and based on Experience
Per Diem: $120 / calendar day (during location) $0 when relocated
Responsibilities
As a Wind Technician in Commissioning you will perform, instruct, train and ensure safety during service and basic troubleshooting on all O&M aspects of wind turbine.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical or system malfunctions
- Secure the WTG and its systems prior to initiating any work
- Lead small to medium-sized teams
- Mentor and share knowledge within area of responsibility
- Support on-job training as requested
- Keep records, maintain documentation and report as required by company policy
- Maintain and follow safety procedures as required by company policy
Requirements
- 1-2 Year Experience on Gamesa G8x or G9x units 9or equivalent Vestas V8x or V9x)
- Siemens Level 5 experience trained or equivalent = GWO BST.
- 6 months of Wind turbine troubleshooting / maintenance experience
- Prior experience working away from home
- Working with both small and large teams/ groups
- Climbing up high wind turbine towers wearing safety harness to carry out repair work
- Wind turbine technical trade school a plus
Basic Certs Requirement:
GWO Basic Safety Training cert
- Fire Awareness
- Working at Heights
- First Aid
- Manual Handling
