Job description

The Role:

Candidates should have proven experience in air quality consulting including strategic planning, assessment, and management of projects associated with New Source Review, Title V, and regulatory compliance. Interested candidates must have proven experience managing project budgets, schedules, internal and external communication, and project teams. In addition, candidates must have both existing client relationships as well as relationships with associated regulatory agencies. Finally, candidates must have experience with project strategy development and assessment for air quality projects, including air permitting, audits, and compliance assistance.

Responsibilities:

- Identify, communicate, and execute effective, efficient technical and regulatory strategies and solutions that address our client's specific needs.

- Effectively communicate information between the company and clients.

- Develop and maintain trusting professional relationships with team members, current clients, prospective clients, partners, and regulators.

- Continuously identify, pursue, and secure new opportunities with new and existing clients.

- Produce proposals with a clearly defined scope, schedule, and budget per project strategy, client expectations, and Spirit requirements.

- Oversee the preparation of excellent deliverables through effective project management, and do so within client-approved scope, schedule, and budget.

- Ensure project profitability on multiple projects simultaneously by overseeing and accounting for billable time and proper task execution.

- Continuously gain expertise in your associated discipline and mentor others to ensure continuous improvement.

Skills:

- Demonstrates skills including effective personal leadership, time management, problem solving, critical thinking, and decision making.

- Project management skills and the ability to teach others these skills.

- Effective written and verbal communication.

- Fundamental math and science competencies (e.g. unit conversions, use of formulas, data evaluation).

- Proficiency with MS Office (e.g. Word/Excel/Outlook/SharePoint) and time/expense tracking software.

- Proficiency with software and tools applicable to your project (e.g. BEEST, ArcGIS, TRI-ME, advanced Microsoft Office).

- Advanced understanding of relevant regulations related to their tasks, projects, and client operations. Ability to navigate regulatory websites and databases.

- Depth of technical competencies necessary to solve problems and scope new jobs accurately and completely.

- Breadth of technical competencies necessary to work with multiple industries and/or multiple clients within a large industry.

Requirements:

- B.S. or above in chemical engineering or a related engineering or scientific discipline.

- 10+ years of environmental consulting experience with at least 5 years of project management experience preferred.

- Effective management skills with multiple air quality projects and employees.

- A high level of professional ethics.

- Social skills and professionalism necessary to establish and maintain long-term working relationships with clients and co-workers.

- Limited travel.
